Healthy Food So Fast & Easy - Even A Guy could Do It !

(COUPON Giveaway Below)

I am so glad I joined MyBzzAgent. I love trying new products with my family and I have to admit I'm a bit of a survey addict. So, I'm really enjoying their site and just completed my first Bzz Campaign with the BzzKit for Alexia Select Sides. The Bzz kit was so cool - it included some coupons, product information and an awesome large wooden spoon!

Alexia has a variety of potato and vegetable sides and artisan breads to choose from so it was tough to decide. We ended up choosing the Oven Reds - Olive Oil, Parmesan & Roasted Garlic potatoes.

  • (Sorry for the dig, guys! heheh! But These dishes require no cooking skill, no patience, no hassle! Hey, your guests don't have to know you are clueless in the kitchen! Tell 'em you "made" them!)

How much easier could it be? My Hubby simply put the frozen potatoes on a cookie sheet and baked at 425 degrees (f) for about 20 minutes and Yum! These potatoes were crisp on the outside, soft and tender on the inside and delicious. No need to add anything - the blend of parmesan, roasted garlic was perfect, and the oregano and basil give them a very prominent fresh herb flavor. They were a hit with my family. Even our picky 22 month old gobbled them up.

What I like about Alexia Select Sides is that they are either all-natural or certified organic (depending on which variety) and made with non-hydrogenated oils which means 0 Grams of trans fat. I liked that they give you a recipe on the package for a main dish that would compliment this particular side dish. They suggested Chicken Dijon. We actually ate them with sausage & eggs last night, but I would serve them with burgers, roast beef, pork chops or any chicken dish really.

A serving of the Oven Reds is 8 pieces, which is 120 Calories, 3.5 grams of fat, and 2 grams of fiber -- which translates to 2 Weight Watchers Points* - That's awesome! I can enjoy something that is so tasty and not fall off the wagon on my diet! We will definitely be buying these again, as well as trying their other dishes.  I'm looking forward to trying the Artisan Breads (if I can find them--our grocery didn't have them) and the Chipotle Roasted Sweet Potatoes!

BzzAgent and Alexia Foods graciously provided me with a coupon to try this side dish free. I was not required to give a positive review, only to give my honest opinions and to share this it with others. I shared a couple coupons with family/friends and would like to send One coupon to a lucky blog reader. I will be Tweeting today---I will send a $1.00 off Coupon to a Random Winner (via Random.org) - from the comments to this post. I will open the Comments NOW (4:42pm 4-15-10, CST) and closing it Friday 4-16-10 at 3pm CST and will email the winner to get their mailing info.

TO QUALIFY -- Look at Alexia Foods' website & tell me what product you like and why. That's all. Good luck!

* Weight watchers did not endorse this product or provide this info. I used the Calories, Fat, and Fiber info from the product package and used my own 2009 WW points slider and calculated myself.

I love the ALexia products as well, and you're right---they're tasty and so good for you! A combination that's hard to find these days. I'm partial to the Spicy Sweet POtatoes myself, but my girls won't go for those (they prefer regular).

I love the sweet potato fries! I'd make them myself but slicing a sweet potato into shoe string fries is no easy task. And with all those vitamins, they pack a health punch as well as tasting great.
