Stain Removal - Anything is worth a try!

Pretty hard to hide the fact that you've got an emergency stash of chocolate when you realize you've been walking around all day with a brown stain on the front of your shirt. (And of course, it landed right on 'the girls' ) Um, yeah. Great.

Chocolate stains on pastel colors can be very tough to get out. Especially when you realize you've been wearing the same shirt for 2 days. (*blush* C'mon moms, don't tell me you've never worn something more than one day, when you're staying home.) I tried soaking the spot with Shout and letting it sit for a few hours, then washed the shirt. No luck. Thinking the spot was probably heat-set in by the dryer, I almost gave up. I was kinda bummed as this is one of my fave casual shirts.

Then I had an idea---carpet cleaner! I wasn't sure if it would work, or if it would cause a bleach spot in my shirt but I decided to go for it. Either way - the shirt was destined to be a rag....I used Woolite Oxy-Deep spot & stain cleaner. I scrubbed it into the spot and let it sit for a couple hours, then tossed the shirt in the wash.

Woohoo! Success! Who knew?! The spot is completely gone. (So is my secret stash! LOL). My shirt is a bright turquoise knit and didn't fade or bleach. I would recommend if you try this, to be careful and test a tiny hidden area (seam or inside hem) with a cotton swab - results could vary on different colors and fabrics. I have used this same cleaner on my bright red couch (some sort of poly/synthetic material) and had excellent results. Not too shabby, eh?

That is so cool! I can never get stains out, especially the ones my son comes home with. Goodness knows what he gets up to at kindergarten!
